Happy Holidays and Happy Low Gas Prices

December 15, 2014

Just in time for the holidays, low gas prices!

Lower Gas PricesCan you believe the gas prices lately? Reminds me of back in 2009! (I just turned 16 and was starting to drive, just kidding) With the lower gas prices, they say more people will be traveling this holiday season. Will you be joining those holiday travelers? If so, you won’t be alone, according to AAA, more than 5.6 million Californians will be joining you this holiday season.

The holidays are always a great time to spend with family and friends. It can also be a dangerous time for drivers, especially with more cars on the road. More cars can equal more accidents.

Here are some safe holiday driving tips to keep you and your loved ones safe.

  • Get a Checkup – For your car that is. Before leaving for your holiday road trip, have your car checked out and make sure it’s ready. The last thing you want to be it be late to the in-laws because the car broken down.
  • Leave Early – Give your self plenty of time to get there. Remember, there will be more traffic, drivers will be stressed and impatient. If you give yourself extra time, you won’t be one of those stressed impatient drivers.
  • Don’t Drive Drowsy – Many of us are busy with dinner/party planning, shopping and celebrating with family and friends before the big day arrives. Be safe, don’t drive when your exhausted or feeling sleepy.
  • PLEASE Don’t Drink and Drive –  Holiday parties are always a fun way to celebrate and usually include cocktails and food. It’s never okay to get behind the wheel after drinking. If you do enjoy a cocktail, be sure to have a designated driver or call a cab.

Park Plaza wishes everyone a Happy, Safe Holiday Season! Oh and enjoy the low gas prices too!
